This document is a draft. The company behind Coach, its registered address and the law these terms run under are still to be confirmed, and are marked in square brackets below.
These terms govern your use of Coach at coach.ai, operated by [Operating company to be confirmed] ("Coach", "we", "us"). By using Coach you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Coach.
1. Coach is not medical advice
This is the most important term here.
Coach is an AI assistant that answers general questions about training, technique, recovery and everyday healthy habits. It is not a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or qualified trainer, it does not know your medical history, and it cannot examine you.
- Nothing Coach says is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and it is no substitute for a qualified professional who can assess you in person.
- Ask a professional before starting a new exercise programme or changing your diet, particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, taking medication, or living with a heart condition, joint condition, eating disorder, diabetes or any other medical condition.
- Stop and seek help if you feel chest pain, breathlessness, dizziness, faintness or any sharp or unfamiliar pain. Do not push through it because an answer here said something different.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not ask Coach.
Exercise carries a risk of injury, and you take that risk on yourself. You are responsible for deciding whether any suggestion is right for your body, your health and your circumstances.
2. What Coach gets wrong
Coach is built on a large language model. It can be confidently wrong, out of date, or inconsistent between one answer and the next. Demonstration videos come from YouTube and are chosen automatically: we do not make them, check them or endorse the people in them. The 3D figures are illustrations of a movement, not a standard your body has to match.
Treat every answer as a starting point to check, not an instruction to follow.
3. Who may use Coach
You must be 18 or over. If you are under 18, please do not create an account or use the chat. We do not knowingly keep data from anyone under 18, and will delete an account if we learn its holder is younger.
4. Your account
An account is optional. If you create one:
- Give an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@coach.ai if you think someone else has access.
- Do not share, sell or transfer your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
You can delete your account at any time, which deletes the conversations belonging to it.
5. How you may use it
Use Coach for your own personal purposes, lawfully. You must not:
- Use it to give other people medical, clinical or professional advice, or present its output as professional advice.
- Try to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service, other people's accounts or our systems.
- Use bots or scrapers, or work around usage or security limits.
- Submit unlawful or harmful content, or content that infringes someone's rights.
- Use Coach or its output to build a competing product or dataset without our written permission.
- Resell or redistribute Coach or its content.
6. What you write, and what Coach answers
What you type stays yours. You give us permission to store, transmit and process it for the purposes in the Privacy Policy, which is what makes an answer possible at all. Do not submit personal information about other people, or anything sensitive you would not want stored.
You may use the answers Coach gives you for your own purposes, subject to these terms and to the limits in section 2.
7. What belongs to us and to others
The Coach name, brand, interface, software, prompts and 3D figures belong to [Operating company to be confirmed] or its licensors. You get a personal, limited, revocable right to use them through the service, nothing more.
Some parts come from others and keep their own licences. The anatomical models are adapted from Z-Anatomy and BodyParts3D and are shared under CC BY-SA, as recorded in the attribution notice served with them. YouTube videos belong to whoever made them, and YouTube's own terms apply when you play one.
8. Availability
Coach is provided as it is, without guarantees. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and the service may be unavailable at times. It is free at present, and we may introduce paid features in future, in which case we will say so clearly before anything is charged.
9. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from following anything Coach says, from your use of or inability to use the service, or from content provided by third parties such as YouTube. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Ending it
You may stop using Coach whenever you like, and delete your account. We may end or restrict your access if you break these terms, or if we must for legal or security reasons. Sections 1, 2, 6, 7, 9 and 12 survive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Coach after a change means you accept it. If a change is significant we will give notice through the service or by email.
12. Governing law
[Governing law and courts to be confirmed]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
